In contrast, safety transformers are designed for continuous and permanent operation. Grothe's bell and safety transformers are equipped with a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient), which protects the transformer on the primary side in the event of short circuits or overloads. If the PTC is triggered due to an overload or short circuit, the transformer is temporarily de-energised for at least 1 minute so that it can then be put back into operation. All our transformers fulfil the strictest environmental protection requirements and have been tested and certified in accordance with EN61558.
