GTN 3173
Our doorbell transformers are specially designed for use with doorbells, doorbells, chimes and door openers in residential areas, where they are active for short periods of time. In contrast, safety transformers are designed for continuous and permanent operation. Grothe's bell and safety transformers are equipped with a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient), which protects the transformer on the primary side in the event of short circuits or overloads.
If the PTC is triggered due to an overload or short circuit, the transformer is temporarily de-energised for at least 1 minute so that it can then be put back into operation. All our transformers fulfil the strictest environmental protection requirements and have been tested and certified in accordance with EN61558.
Note:
A higher output voltage occurs at low load or no-load operation!
After a short circuit, restart by briefly disconnecting the primary side from the mains. (Exception: GT 50810)
